About

Heartland Quiltery story

I am a lifelong seamstress who learned how to sew at about the age of 6, learning from my mother at her Singer sewing machine that only had a straight stitch and a zig-zag stitch. I began making my own toys, doll clothes, doll blankets and quilts when I was a small child, using mostly scraps left over from my mother's sewing projects.

I spend as much of my time sewing as possible, and absolutely love making quilts for my family and to decorate every bed and room in the house. Most of them are of my own creation, and I've gotten so much positive feedback of my creations over the years that I thought it was time to write up and share my patterns with others who share my passion for quilting. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Human Resources/Organizational Leadership/Business. I believe my education combines well with experience in sewing skills, and the ability to write lucid and easy to follow pattern directions.

The majority of my patterns provide an introduction to describe where the inspiration came from; this is my way to connect with others and share the memories and simplicity of daily life that became my artistic expression.

All quilters are artists; all who sew and decorate their homes with crafts and give gifts of their handcrafts are artists who are sharing their heartfelt love of creation with others. My patterns are created with love from my heart to share with others who will turn the patterns into their own magic by their own hands.

With love, from my heart to your hands.
